Weddings

Congratulations on your engagement!

We'd love to help you celebrate your special day.

Can we get married at MPC?

We'd love to welcome you for a wedding at MPC!  Because marriage is governed by law, there are some legal requirements, outlined below.  But, whatever your situation, please come and chat to us - we will find a way to help you celebrate here!

You have a right to get married at MPC if you live in the Parish (enter your postcode here to check).

You can also be married here if you are a regular worshipper at MPC or you have a connection to the area (e.g. you used to live here or your parents married here; see the full list of qualifying connections here).

If you or your partner are divorced, it's normally still possible for you to be married in Church.

If one of you is a foreign national, it will probably still be possible for you to marry in Church, but it requires some special paperwork, so please come and see us as early as you can.

The law currently doesn't allow Church of England churches to marry same-sex couples, though we can offer prayers and pastoral support.

How much does it cost?

We try to keep the fees as low as possible, so that everyone can come and celebrate a wedding with us.

What you will pay depends slightly on what you want, and the legal fees (which we have to charge) tend to go up by a few pounds each year.

When you book with us, we will be able to give you a firmer figure, but for reference: in 2024, you could expect to pay between £760 and £1035 for a wedding at MPC.

Can we have a choir/bells?

Yes - we have both available!  There are additional charges if you want to have a choir and/or bells, but these are included in the larger sum quoted above.

Of course, if you're looking for something a bit less traditional, we can also play your own choice of music on our sound system.

How to Book

Come and see us in the church any Tuesday evening 3:30 - 6:00 pm

or catch up with us after a service
